I learnt to punch before I could paint
I learnt to kick before I could dance
I learnt to scream before I could sing
I learnt to rage before I could cry
From the depths of my soul

But no matter how hard I punched the air
Or how fierce I kicked the ground
Or how loud I screamed in the sea
Or how violently I raged at the fire
The world kept on spinning without me

So one day I took out a brush and painted my rage
Another day I moved to the rhythm of my heart
While another day I hummed the tune of my mind
And then I looked at the world and cried
At how beautiful and amazing she is.
