Sunshine Tree

There is always a battle of the Gods until the Battle is Won:

Taistelu on voitettu.

And the Water, Fire, Earth and Air are One:

Vesi, Tuli, Maa ja Ilma olevat Yksi.

When the Water dances with the Earth,

The Air breathes life into the Fire,

And all are whole and connected:

Maa, the Earth, is a mass of spinning dirt; in the soil grows the worms and roots of all things.

It spins around the golden Sun which lights up her world.

Päivätär is strong and is the center of her world.

The Trees, Puut, growing out of Maa, reach out to Päivätär, the Sun, longing for the light.

The Land of the Bogs: Suomaa; here Päivätär shines brightest and hottest after Juhannus (Midsummer)

— unleashing Her heat and warmth on Maa.

Rekindling the flame for the year ahead, and to give spirit to life to last through the Winter’s darkness: Talvi Tumma.

This flame is strong, bright and unrelenting. Unveiling the truth within all who reside upon Maa.

Maa longs to be Free: Vapaa. And Päivätär longs to Burn and Shine: Paistaa.

Maa spins round and round trying to break free

Päivätär continues to spin, burning and shining — drawing Maa in.

A vortex they make: round and round they go.

Forever in a burning dance;

The greatest romance.

Maa ja Päivätär taistelemaan joka päivä;

Maa haluaa vapautta ja Päivätär haluaa paistaa kaikki Maat;

On vain rauha, kun Maa muuttuu Kuutar hajottaa taistelua.

Only the Moon brings Peace as the Day turns to Night.

And the Creatures of the Day, sleep;

While those of the Night, wake.

And when the Rain Dance of Juhannus is over;

The new year begins.

Kuutar calls the Hay to be harvested: Heinäkuu.

And the long walk to Winter Darkness is laid and paved:

Talvi Tumma tulee.

Päivätär is called by the Darkness;

Just as she calls the Lands with Her Light.

Her greatest Fear is the Black Opening in the centre of the Universe:

Musta Aukko.

It calls her to meet her End.

Every year during Talvi Tumma, Maa reminds her that one day she will no longer shine.

Here in the Endless Night, Päivätär is a lingering Silent Rainbow;

Who in turn reminds Maa, that she is still here

And will return.

And on and on they dance,

In their twisting, turning and spinning romance,

In the Dark,

Amongst the Stars.

Maa, Päivätär ja Kuutar

Don’t your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won’t snow and the sun won’t shine
It’s hard to tell the night time from the day
You’re losin’ all your highs and lows
Ain’t it funny how the feeling goes away?
